Day 1: Kampala – Source of the Nile

0900hrs depart from your hotel in Kampala to Eastern Uganda.

Stop over at local handcraft stall in Mukono town then at Namawojolo fruit market.

Drive through Mabira tropical forest, where several forest birds and some primates can easily be seen. Watch out for Colubus monkeys and birds. In this area we travel through the tea estates, sugar plantations, coffee banana shambas; and other mixed farming activities.

Arrive at the famous Owen Falls Dam after about 90 minutes. Owen Fall Dam was built in 1954 on the River Nile (the second longest river in the world and the longest in Africa). We proceed through Jinja town and to Masese fishing village.

We proceed to Ripon Falls. Here at Ripon Falls, you are standing at the very spot where John Speke became the first European to correctly identify the geological grail.

Lunch out in one of the restaurants in the nearby Jinja town.

Spend the afternoon touring at Bujagali Falls where several rapids are situated close together. A very good place to take quiet walks and later on relax in one of the quiet spots.
Later in the evening, return to your hotel in Kampala.
